Alto William Walters was born August 25, 1915, and died February 27, 1990.  He married (1) Idaleen Cole June 11, 1939, daughter of Burlie Cole and Lena Carter.  She was born November 29, 1923, and died March 22, 1975 in Lowry City, Missouri.  He married (2) Eunice Lorene Wombles.

Alto graduated from elementary school on April 12, 1929.  He went to school at Oak Grove School near Osceola, MO.  He then went to Osceola High School for a time, but was taken out  to help work on the family farm.  He used to break horses, and he has been coon hunting since his teens.  He also enjoyed playing baseball, square dancing and working on his prize Model T Ford.  Working on his cars helped him to become a very good mechanic.  He enjoyed farming as much as his father, also raising coon hounds and cattle.  A.W. was a member of the Lowry City School Board of Education for fifteen years.  He was an Honorary Chapter Farmer with the Lowry City FFA.
